Day 1: Welcome to Lima — City of Kings & The Larco Museum Arrive at Lima airport; meet-and-greet assistance and private transfer to your hotel. Afternoon:Historical Center of Lima: Guided walking tour of the UNESCO World Heritage historical core. Convent of Santo Domingo: Explore the site where the Universidad Mayor de San Marcos (oldest in the Americas) was founded. View the historic library, the choir stalls, and the tombs of San Martín de Porres, San Juan Masías, and Santa Rosa de Lima. Plaza Mayor: Visit the Cathedral of Lima. Late Afternoon / Evening: Larco Museum: Explore pre-Columbian gold collections, and erotic ceramics that illustrate ancient Peruvian cosmovision. Includes special access to the museum’s open storage warehouse. Overnight: Lima
Day 2: Imperial Cusco & Historic Center Morning Transfer to Lima airport for your flight to Cusco. Arrival assistance and hotel check-in. Afternoon San Cristóbal Square: Panoramic view of Cusco. San Pedro Market: Guided walk through the bustling local market. Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun): Tour the premier Inca temple. San Blas & Hatun Rumiyoc: Stroll through the artisan and historic district to view the Twelve-Angled Stone. Plaza de Armas & Cathedral: Visit the central square and the Cathedral housing priceless colonial art. Overnight: Cusco
Day 3: Cusco – From Cusco you will directly go to to the Sacred Valley of the Incas for a Excursion Numerous ruins of ancient cities lie in the Sacred Valley of the Incas: Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero, Urubamba. At the artisan market in Pisac, you can buy local handicrafts — ceramics, carpets, souvenirs, silver and leather goods. At the Awanakancha Zoo Center, visitors enjoy feeding charming llamas, alpacas, guanacos and vicuñas, and learn about the process of preparing and naturally dyeing wool. Continue to the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, Buffet lunch at the national cuisine restaurant Tunupa. Overnight Sacred Valley hotel.
Day 4: Machu Picchu — The Lost City of the Incas Morning: Breakfast at the hotel. Full-day excursion to Machu Picchu – the “lost city of the Incas” in a group with an English -speaking guide. The most enlightened priests went to Machu Picchu after the fall of the Inca Empire; the Spaniards could not find this city. Machu Picchu was built of huge limestone blocks without the use of cementing mortar on the top of a mountain, surrounded by impenetrable jungle. It was discovered by the American archaeologist Iram Bingham only in 1911. Dinner. Return to Cusco by train. Arrival, transfer to Cuscohotel.
Day 5: Departure & Farewell Morning / Day: In the afternoon we will get away from the crowds to visit Sacsayhuaman, an impressive citadel full of colossal constructions surrounded by beautiful landscapes in complete communion with nature. Climb to the Archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman, in the higher part of Cusco. Our first stop will be Tambomachay, a source of spring water that it is believed was once worshipped. Next we will visit the remains of Qenqo, a stone made labyrinth with a sacrificial altar in its center. At the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman we will enjoy a wonderful view of Cusco while admiring the massive stones that make up the fortress. Our last stop will be to see the Tower of Pucca Pucara before transferring back to the city and your hotel. After that transfer to the airport for your flight home
