Take a self-guided cycling short break in the Cotswolds. The pleasant cycle routes allows you to visit honey coloured Cotswold stone villages, the picturesque towns of Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford and Northleach as well as taking in the stunning views along the way.

This short break is available for two night, three night, four night as well as the five night itinerary.
Ride 1 – Go past the charming cottages, manor houses and water mill in the villages of Lower and Upper Slaughter on the way to Stow on the Wold. Here, handsome stone buildings stand around a traditional market square that used to sell up 25,000 sheep in a day. On the way back, ride through Idbury and Church Westcote which has some wonderful views across the Oxfordshire Wolds.
Ride 2 – Follow the meandering River Windrush east to the Wychwood. In the little town of Burford the magnificent high street rises from the river bank and bears witness to the fine building stone and skilled masons for which this area is famous. On your return cycle through other delightful Cotswold villages such as Little Barrington and Sherborne along the other bank of the River Windrush.
Ride 3 – Cycle into the heart of the Cotswolds with sweeping views across unspoilt countryside. Take a break to visit local and exotic wildlife at The Cotswold Farm Park and enjoy stunning views Broadway Tower, a classic English folly built high on the escarpment offering views over twelve counties. Snowshill is one of the most attractive villages in the area and its manor contains a remarkable collection of historic objects. Winding lanes take you through the scenic villages of the Guitings and Naunton on the way back.
Ride 4 – Explore the handsome old market town of Northleach followed by cycling through the beautiful villages of Coln Dennis, Coln Rogers and Bibury. Visit the Chedworth Roman Villa, the most complete villa in Britain with mosaic floors, bath houses and heating system all on display in their original settings. There is also a collection of artefacts in the museum and an interesting visitor centre.

Luggage Transfer - click for more
The tour includes transfer of luggage as stated. The tour information pack provided to you contains luggage tags. Your name and the hotels used throughout the holiday will be on these tags. They should be fixed to the luggage. In the morning the luggage should be left at the reception for collection. Luggage is collected after 9.30am and delivered to the next hotel before 4.30pm.

Directions to Cotswolds
- By Rail: Great Western Railway operate regular connections to London with approximately hourly Cheltenham Spa to Swindon services which extend to through to Didcot Parkway, Reading & London Paddington. Moreton in Marsh also has a train station. From either Cheltenham Spa or Moreton in Marsh, you can hop on a bus to Bourton on the Water.
- By Car: Bourton on the Water can be easily accessed via the A40, the main route into London.
Distribution of bicycles & equipment
Hybrid bike hire is included within the price (but can be deducted if your clients want to bring their own) or can be upgraded to an E-Bike. The bikes will be delivered to the first hotel at 9.30am on the morning of your first day of activity, so the second day in The Cotswolds. The bicycles are branded tour bicycles, light weight, equipped with 21 speed derailleur and freewheel. The bikes do not come with stands, but are provided with puncture repair kits, pumps, locks and panniers. We also provide a handlebar mounted mobile phone pouch to use with our mobile app. Please note, we do not provide computers.
