  Day 1: Arrival Sardinia Distance: 52 km | Overnight: Tempio di Pausania
  Your journey begins with your arrival at Olbia airport. After picking up your rental car, you will depart for Tempio di Pausania. As there are no planned activities scheduled for today, you will have plenty of free time to discover the city and its historic stone streets entirely on your own before settling into your hotel for the night.

  Day 2: Corsica  Distance: 148 km | Overnight: Ajaccio as you enjoy breakfast and drive north to Santa Teresa di Gallura to catch the ferry across the water. After a scenic one-hour sea crossing, you arrive in the historic harbor city of Bonifacio, founded in the 9th century. A tourist train carries you up to the dramatic upper city on the limestone promontory for a guided walking tour, where clear days reveal views all the way back to the Sardinian coast. Afterward, you drive toward Ajaccio via Sartène—taking in its medieval alleys and Place de la Liberation—and pass through the Gulf of Valinco to visit the ancient prehistoric site of Filitosa, a fascinating open-air museum spanning the Neolithic, megalithic, Torrean, and Roman periods, before settling in Ajaccio for the night.

  Day 3: Calanche of Piana and Porto  Distance: 170 km Overnight: Ajaccio, your journey takes you to Sagone and the cliffside village of Cargèse, known for its 17th-century Greek colony roots and its unique feature of two face-to-face churches. You continue to Piana—one of France’s Most Beautiful Villages—and head down to Porto, where you can board a boat into the Scandola Nature Reserve to view the cove of Girolata and its rich marine and bird life. Your return drive to Ajaccio leads you through the lively mountain village of Vico and past the legendary La Sposata mountain.

  Day 4: Corte and the Center of Corsica  Distance: 161 km | Overnight: Ajaccio brings you inland to Corte, the historic mountain capital established in 1755 by Pasquale Paoli, offering breathtaking vistas over the Restonica and Tavignanu valleys. Along the way, you explore the I trè paesi heritage trail connecting Casanova, Riventosa, and Poghju di Venaco, admire the 19th-century Vechju Bridge designed by Gustave Eiffel near Vivario, and stop to meet regional artisans before returning to your Ajaccio hotel.

  Day 5: Ajaccio to Sardinia Distance: 130 km  Overnight: Tempio di Pausania Area, you spend the morning exploring the stylish port city of Ajaccio, visiting its impressive Italian painting collection and the imperial chapel where the Bonaparte family rests. Following a trip out to Cap Parata for panoramic views of the Sanguinaires Islands, you head back down to Bonifacio for the afternoon ferry back to Santa Teresa di Gallura, completing your journey with a short drive to your Sardinian hotel.

  Day 6: Alghero, Capo Caccia & Baia di Porto Conte Distance: 250 km | Overnight: Tempio di Pausania Area, offers the freedom to relax at the beach or embark on an excursion to Alghero, where you can explore ancient Spanish walls and towers, take an optional boat ride to the Grotte di Nettuno, and enjoy panoramic views across the promontory of Capo Caccia and the bay of Porto Conte alongside a visit to the Palmavera Nuraghe.

  Day 7: Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo & Porto Rotondo Distance: 110 km | Overnight: Tempio di Pausania Area, wraps up your trip with a mix of leisure and glamour. Your suggested itinerary guides you to Arzachena to explore the Bronze Age megalith tower of Il Nuraghe la Prisgiona, stops for photos in the granite-framed mountain village of San Pantaleo, and takes you through Baia Sardinia and along the scenic coastal route of the Costa Smeralda past its famous emerald bays. You conclude your day exploring the upscale boutiques, exclusive restaurants, and large marina of Porto Cervo before returning to your hotel for your final evening.

  Day 8: Departure Distance: 273 km or 10 km | Overnight: None
  Enjoy your final breakfast at the hotel before checking out and driving to your departure airport in Olbia or Cagliari, bringing your memorable island-hopping adventure to a close.
