  Day 1: Lamezia Terme to Tropea (Overnight in Tropea area) – KM 70 Arrive at the airport or train station, pick up your rental car, and drive to the Tropea area. Spend the rest of the day enjoying free time to discover the coastal town at your own pace before checking in for your overnight stay.

  Day 2: Tropea & Capo Vaticano (Overnight in Tropea area) – KM 40 After breakfast, explore the historic seaside town of Tropea and the promontory of Capo Vaticano. In Tropea, visit the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell’Isola, perched atop a sheer cliff overlooking the sea, and discover the Norman-era cathedral, home to baroque details and the famous painting of Our Lady of Romania. Afterwards, stop at Capo Vaticano to admire panoramic views of the white granite cliffs, sandy beaches, and distant vistas of the Aeolian Islands and the Strait of Messina before returning to your hotel for the night.

  Day 3: Pizzo (Overnight in Tropea area) – KM 60  Enjoy breakfast and head out to the coastal fishing village of Pizzo Calabro. Wander through its narrow streets and small squares to visit the unique Church of Piedigrotta, carved directly into the tufa stone above the sea, as well as the historic Aragonese Castle where Joachim Murat was executed. End your visit with a stop to sample the world-famous local Tartufo ice cream before returning to your hotel for overnight.

  Day 4: Aeolian Islands Mini Cruise (Overnight in Tropea area)  Have breakfast before embarking on an optional mini cruise to the Aeolian Islands. Sail to Stromboli to admire its 900-meter-high active volcano, black sand beaches, and coastal villages of San Vincenzo and Ginostra. Continue to Lipari, exploring its lively narrow streets, massive castle, and cathedral perched on a clifftop, before catching sight of the dramatic cliffs and wild panoramas of Vulcano. Return to your hotel in Tropea for the night.

  Day 5: Scilla & Reggio Calabria (Overnight in Tropea area) – KM 225  Following breakfast, drive south to Scilla to visit Ruffo Castle and the Church of Saint Rocco overlooking the sea. Continue to the Art Nouveau city of Reggio Calabria to explore the National Archaeological Museum—home to the famous Riace Bronzes and Magna Grecia artifacts—before strolling along the seaside promenade, visiting the Greek walls, Roman baths, and the city cathedral. Return to Tropea for your overnight stay.

  Day 6: Zungri (Overnight in Tropea area) – KM 50  After breakfast, drive up to Zungri, an agricultural town located on the north slope of the Poro plateau. Explore its historical center, visit a local family farm to sample regional products like onions, ‘nduja salami, local wine, and cheese, and discover the historic Caves of Zungri alongside the Church of Our Lady of the Snow before returning to your hotel for overnight.

  Day 7: Amantea & Belmonte (Overnight in Tropea area) – KM 198  Enjoy breakfast and set off along the coast to Amantea to walk through its old town and see sights like the 15th-century Gothic Monastery of San Bernardino of Siena, the Collegiate Church of San Biagio, the Palazzo of the Poor Clares, and the Byzantine-Norman castle ruins overlooking the town. Continue to the nearby hillside village of Belmonte Calabro to wander its narrow medieval alleys and ancient stone walls perched on a natural terrace above the sea before returning for your final overnight stay.

  Day 8: DepartureHave breakfast at the hotel, check out by 10:00 AM, and drive your rental car back to the airport for vehicle return and final flight departures.
