Day 1: Venice Your adventure starts off in Venice. After settling in your hotel, 6:00 pm join our small group guided food and wine sunset tour. Instead of going to tourist hot spots, a guide shows you the “bacaro” (Venetian wine bars), where locals like to drink wine and sample “cicchetti” (local Venetian tapas). Day 2: Venice At your leisure take a walk about to explore the Rialto Food Market that dates back to 1907 located in Venice’s historic centre. The food market is divided into a fish section and a produce section, located next to the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge. At 5:00 pm arrive at Palazzo Lorenda for your hands on cooking class. The location of the class is a tourist accommodation located in a large and bright apartment in Venice, the top floor apartment of Palazzo Loredan: the 16th century historic residence of a noble venetian family, the “Loredan”. This residence was owned by the chef’s family throughout the 21st century and it’s also the place where he grew up. You will learn how to create 3 famous made-in-Italy dishes, guided by one of Nico’s family chefs. The teaching session will conclude with a meal where we can savor the dishes we worked on together.
Day 3 Venice – Bologna High speed train takes you to Bologna. Check into your hotel and take time to explore key city attractions, from the Quadrilatero market district to the Basilica of San Petronio. View many of the city’s top historical landmarks. At 5 or 6 pm meet local host for a private 3-hour tour. Follow your senses and our gourmet guide around Italy’s culinary capital on a private food tour. Day 5: Bologna – San Gimignano Travel High Speed train Bologna to Florence with connecting regional train to Poggibonsi. Arrival and short taxi to San Gimignano distance 17 km. Check into your hotel Spend time walking about San Gimignano famous walled medieval hill town in Tuscany with 14 surviving stone towers dating back to the Middle Ages.
