Day 2: Porto Vecchio – Aléria – Bastia  Breakfast at the hotel. Today we recommend visiting Porto Vecchio. The city of Porto-Vecchio was built in 1539 on top of a rocky promontory by order of the Genoese senators. Despite having fertile land and an excellent location in a bay, the area is affected by malaria by salt marshes, and besieged by barbarian pirates. Therefore, the citadel was destroyed and rebuilt three times between 1540 and 1589. In 1768 it was ceded to France. Departure along the east coast towards Aléria. The archaeological site of Aleria is made up of vestiges of the pre-Roman necropolis, of the Roman villa and of the ancient Roman city, completely updated since 1965. It constitutes of the first Corsican ancient ensemble, with forum, porches, temple, Ninfeón, house and shops, spa and mosaics, industrial establishment, road network, etc. Numerous pieces (furniture, ceramics, coins, sculptures, bronzes and more) are in the museum Jérôme-Carcopino. The San Marcelo church was the first one built in Corsica (in the first millennium), destroyed, then rebuilt several times, reusing stones from the Roman village. The remains of Diana’s tower, the old Genoese tower, is still visible between the coast and Diana’s pond. Continue to Bastia. Accommodation.

Day 3: Bastia – St Florent – Cap Corse – Sisco – Bastia  Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to St Florent, an old Genoese city, now a well-known seaside resort. Departure to Cap Corse, where we will find a succession of vertiginous peaks and eagles nests hit by the winds, Genoese towers and fishing villages: Nonza, Pino, Santa Severa, Pietracorbara and Sisco. Departure to the desert of Agriates and the ancient villages of Belvederes de Balagne, garden of Corsica, hanging on the mountain, offer wonderful visits on the coast. Continue to Calvi. Some say that this is the birthplace of Christopher Columbus. Historic city, cultural and relaxing place by the sea. Its historical past and the beautiful citadel located in the haute ville, which is located on top of a rocky promontory and looks at the snowy mountains in the distance, while the Marina, in the ville basse, extends through a beach of 5 km and a 32-hectare pine forest, forms one of the most beautiful bays of the “ile de la Beauté”. Departure to Ajaccio.  Accommodation.

Day 5: Bastia –Corte – Evisa – Ajaccio  Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Corte, located in the center of the “island of Beauty”, Corte displays an authentic and preserved Corsica. This village located at 450 meters altitude, on top of a shale rock promontory, between the Tavignanu valley and the Restonica valley, dominates the landscapes of the Haute Corse. Its citadel, built in the fifteenth century, called “Eagle’s Nest”, offers an extraordinary panoramic view of the landscape of the center of the “island of Beauty.” Corte is located in the heart of a beautiful region of mountains, lakes, rivers, pine and beech forests, territory of freedom of eagles and mouflon, wild nature that we can discover through numerous hiking trails Continue to Evisa, a beautiful mountain village, located in the highest part of Corsica, the Col de Bergio. The road is worth it, for the beauty of the mountainous landscape and in addition, unexpected sightings such as wild boars can be found. On the D84 road you will cross the Plain of Niolu and then through the gorge of Scala di Santa Regina, a strange corridor of red granite rocks, and at the bottom of the gorges, the Golo River, which has created numerous natural pools. Return to Ajaccio

Day 6: Ajaccio –Bavella – Sartène – Bonifacio  Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the Needles of Bavella in the massif of Mount Incudine which is located in the south of Corsica. Its central part extends schematically between Sartène and Aléria. The courses of Taravo and Fiumorbo are its northern limits, the Tyrrhenian and Mediterranean seas bathe it to the east and south. In particular, it marks the natural boundary between Pumonti and Cismontedes from the Green Pass to Punta Muvrareccia, from where the border follows an eastern buttress that separates the catchment areas of the Travo and Solenzara rivers. Departure to the beautiful Sartène, the most Corsican of all Corsican cities. And on the way, 7 kilometers before Sartène, stop to see the beautiful Genoese Spin’à Cavallu bridge which, in reality, is not Genoese, but a typical example of Pisan architecture, from the 13th century.
