Self Drive Itinerary Langhe Villages & Piemonte

Start/End: Turin or Milan Malpensa AirportDay 1 – Arrival | Malpensa/ Turin ➜ Casale Monferrato (Approx. 115–150 km)
- Pick up rental car at Turin (115 km) or Malpensa Airport (150 km).
- Drive to Casale Monferrato in the Monferrato hills.
- Check in and relax after your journey.
- Overnight: Casale Monferrato
Highlights: Scenic countryside, historic palaces, Romanesque Cathedral.
Day 2 – Explore Monferrato Region (Local Drive ~60 km total)
- Circular exploration around Casale Monferrato, Rosignano, Cella Monte, Ozzano, Vignale Monferrato.
- Visit Romanesque churches, castles, and vineyard landscapes.
- Optional wine tasting or farmer lunch.
- Overnight: Casale Monferrato
Highlights: Monferrato vineyards, hilltop villages, art and architecture.
Day 3 – Casale Monferrato ➜ Asti ➜ San Martino Alfieri ➜ Neive (Approx. 95 km)
- Drive to Asti – city of 100 towers, visit historic center and enjoy Asti Spumante tasting.
- Continue to San Martino Alfieri for an optional wine tasting at Marchesi Alfieri Castle.
- Proceed via Damiano d’Asti to Neive, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages.
- Overnight: Neive

Day 4 – Neive ➜ Alba ➜ Canelli ➜ Neive (Approx. 70 km round-trip)
- Morning visit to Alba, capital of the Langhe – explore its towers, truffles & chocolate shops.
- Afternoon visit to Canelli, home to the Underground Cathedrals (wine cellars) and baroque churches.
- Return to Neive.
- Overnight: Neive
Highlights: Alba’s gastronomy, Canelli’s sparkling wines, local culture.
Day 5 – Neive ➜ Guarene ➜ Bra ➜ Cherasco ➜ Dogliani (Approx. 85 km)
- Visit Guarene and its castle, then continue to Bra, the “City of Cheese” and birthplace of Slow Food.
- Stop in Cherasco, known for its Roman layout and art museums.
- End the day in Dogliani.
- Overnight: Dogliani
Highlights: Cheese, art, medieval architecture, local markets.
Day 6 – Dogliani ➜ Barolo ➜ Grinzane Cavour ➜ La Morra ➜ Monforte ➜ Dogliani (Approx. 65 km round-trip)
- Explore Barolo’s Castello Falletti and the Wine Museum.
- Continue to Grinzane Cavour Castle, then the scenic villages of La Morra, Vergne, and Monforte d’Alba.
- Wine tasting in Barolo area.
- Return to Dogliani.
- Overnight: Dogliani
Highlights: Barolo wine tasting, castles, hilltop villages.
Day 7 – Dogliani ➜ Turin (Approx. 85 km)
- Drive to Turin, Italy’s elegant first capital.
- Sightseeing: Piazza Vittorio Veneto, Palazzo Madama, Palazzo Reale, Mole Antonelliana, and Shroud Cathedral.
- Enjoy local chocolate or an aperitivo under Turin’s arcades.
Day 8 – Departure | Turin ➜ Malpensa Airport (Approx. 145 km)
- Return rental car at Turin or Malpensa Airport.
- End of services – Arrivederci!
