Day 1: Rome Arrival
Arrival at the Airport and transfer by luxury car in private to your chosen Hotel. Free time available to take advantage to relax or take a walk in the historic center of the city. Overnight RomeDay 2: Rome Morning Panoramic Rome Tour. Evening Foodie Tour
At 08.00 – 08.30 hours approximately pick up at the hotel to do the Tour of the Squares & Fountains in Rome.
A pleasant walk through the historic heart of the city that will give you the opportunity to visit some of the most famous and symbolic places in Rome. Our tour begins with the Navona Square, the most elegant of all Roman squares, a cosmopolitan meeting place with many outdoor cafes and seasonal fairs, where the famous Bernini Fountain of the Four Rivers is located. We continue with The Church of San Luigi dei Francesi that houses the world-famous cycle of paintings by Caravaggio. We continue walking to reach the Pantheon, dedicated to all the gods, is the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world and one of the best preserved of all ancient Roman constructions. Within a few minutes we arrive in Piazza Colonna with the famous column of Marcus Aurelius. Continue on to La Fontana di Trevi, the largest baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world, without doubt, one of the icons of Rome. Piazza di Spagna: with its 18th-century atmosphere created by the ocher buildings, the Bernini La Barcaccia fountain and the magnificent and famous Spanish staircase leading to the Church of Trinità dei Monti. Surrounding the square there are boutiques of the most famous fashion brands.
Late Afternoon or early evening, join our Small Group Food Tour in the Campo Dei Fiori, Jewish ghetto and Trastevere neighbourhoods. Tour start choices 4:30 pm or 6:00 pm . Experience a nice stroll through Rome’s enchanting neighborhoods while tasting your way through some of the city’s best shops, restaurants, and markets, discovering firsthand the secrets of the world-renowned Italian cuisine. Meet your friendly, local expert food connoisseur and be ready to stroll through a number of Rome neighborhoods visiting the most famous food markets, groceries, coffee shops, ice-cream shops, and restaurants in town, while tasting some of the delicious food and wines such as pizza bianca, mortadella, gelato, and supplì. From fried artichokes or zucchini flowers in the Jewish ghetto to spices and vegetables in Campo de Fiori, ignite your senses and burn some calories all while you enjoy walking amongst the beauty around you. The commentary from your foodie guide will include an overview of Italian culinary habits, a description of any seasonal events taking place at the time of your tour, and an introduction to selected specialties found in the main shops. At 08.30 – 08.45 hr, Depart from your centrally located hotel in Rome and visit the Vatican Museums. Experience a look into ancient Rome and the Vatican! One one of the most important art collections in existence. The itinerary includes the Pio Clementino Hall, Laocoon and Apollo Belvedere, the Candelabra Gallery, the Tapestries Gallery, the Maps Gallery, and the Sistine Chapel, where you can admire the breathtaking frescos by Michelangelo, one of the most famous artworks of all time. From the Museum, you exit directly to St. Peter’s Basilica, the most important Christian Church in the world, to admire, among others, Michelangelo’s masterpiece La Pietà and the impressive Baldachin Altar by Bernini.
The tour ends in St. Peter’s Square, dominated by Michelangelo’s imposing Cupola and surrounded by Bernini’s double Colonnade. Overnight RomeDay 4: Rome Visit Naples and Pompeii
Early departure from Rome. Arrive meeting point 15 minutes prior. Tour departs 7;15 am to visit Naples and Pompeii. A trip to discover more of Italy through it’s art, history, folklore and archeology. Travel south on the Highway of the Sun. Travel through the green Roman countryside, passing through the Castelli Romani. Halfway we will see pass by and you will see the Abbey of Montecassino perched on a mountain. Famous for the great battle of World War II. Arrive Naples and stop on the hill of Posillipo, here you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the Gulf of Naples, the city facing the sea and flanked by Vesuvius.. We leave the city through the fertile Vesuvius valley and through the towns of Herculaneum, Torre del Greco and Torre Annunziata, to reach Pompeii, where we will have lunch. In the afternoon, always accompanied by our guide, we will start the archaeological walk in the old city (2 hours approx.). Buried under a layer of ashes and washed by an unexpected eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. C., Pompeii returned to the light after almost 1,700 years and the daily life of any day in the first imperial era, as if by magic, was reflected in his gestures, in his secrets and in the panic of his last moments . After the visit we start the trip back to Rome. We will have a short stop at a Cameo Factory and continue back to Rome. Return to meeting point in Rome city centre. A long but enjoyable 13 hours. Return to hotel on your own. Overnight RomeDay 5: Rome Small Group Combo Tour Colosseum & Ancient Rome Walking Tour
