After two days sampling the French capitals historic and culinary delights (mainly of the cheese variety!) this tour enables you to head south (away from the hustle and bustle of the city) to the rolling vineyards, pastel lavender fields, and medieval architectural gems of Provence. Start off by visiting a variety of villages from the Middle Ages, from Les Baux de Provence with its imposing castle ruins, to the city of Avignon, which boasts the biggest gothic palace in Europe. After an evening sampling sumptuous wines in the charming and famous surroundings of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyards, your final day will be spent in the sunny squares, and broad tree-lined avenues of Aix-en-Provence. Here you’ll follow a gourmet walking tour allowing you to taste the tantalising treats of the region including the traditional French candy ‘Calisson’.

Day 1:   Arrival
Independent arrival transfer.  Check into hotel in central Paris. Rest of day at leisure. Overnight in Paris.

Day 2:   The Best of Paris, Louvre & River Cruise 
This Paris walking tour allows you to spend an attraction-filled half day exploring the old heart of Paris under the guidance of a local expert. You’ll meet your guide in front of the fountain at Place Saint-Michel. From there your guide will take you to the site of Notre Dame explaining it’s fascinating 850 years of history, secrets and mysteries. See how this historic structure still stands proud after the recent fire and discover what the future holds for this magnificent building. Your Paris walking tour continues in the picturesque lanes of the Île de la Cite and Latin Quarter, where you’ll see iconic buildings, like the Conciergerie. Arriving at the crowded entrance to the Louvre, you’ll skip the entrance lines and head straight inside for a full Louvre tour with your expert guide, including all the highlights of the world-famous collection. At the end of the walking tour, you will board a Seine river cruise to enjoy a relaxing ride and enjoy the city from the water.  Overnight in Paris.Day 3:  Wine & Cheese in a French Cheese Workshop       
When thinking of France, you cannot avoid thinking to wines and cheese!  Today, join a small group workshop to explore the world of French cheese and wine as we taste our way around France.  We’ll start our workshop with a visit to the historic Ile Saint Louis just minutes from the school, where our favourite local ‘fromager affineur’ awaits. There, your chef will help you navigate a classic Fromagerie in France and you’ll select some fantastic fromages to enjoy with wine back at the school.  During this Tour and Tasting, you’ll savour a selection of 8-12* of France’s finest cheeses! Naturally, your Fromage adventure will be accompanied by wines from various regions in France. We wouldn’t dream of having a Fromage and Wine experience without fresh baguettes, so expect plenty of accompaniments from our favourite local boulangerie.  Overnight in Paris.Day 4:   Paris to Provence       
Transfer to the railway station to board your high-speed train from Paris to Aix en Provence.
Upon arrival, transfer from the station to your hotel.  Overnight in Aix en Provence.Day 5: The Best of Provence     
Today, discover the best of Provence Region.   Start from the exceptional village of Les Baux de Provence. From the Middle Ages, the village has kept the narrow streets, the imposing ruins of a castle and the memory of the proud lords and troubadours. From the rocky spur, it’s a breathtaking view of the exceptional scenery that amazes all the visitors.  Discover the Pont du Gard, a fascinating Unesco World Heritage site, today the best-preserved part of the aqueduct of Nîmes (which is almost 50 km long). The Roman architects and hydraulic engineers who designed this bridge, which stands almost 50 m high and is on three levels – the longest measuring 275 m – created a technical as well as an artistic masterpiece.   Continue to Avignon, the city of the Popes in the 14th century: the medieval walls, the Pont d’Avignon on the Rhone river and the Popes’ Palace, the biggest gothic palace in all Europe (entrance fees not included).   The day continues with Châteauneuf-du-Pape, surrounded by the very famous vineyards. You will enjoy a wine-tasting in one of these enchanting “domain. Overnight in Aix en Provence.Day 6:  Aix En Provence     
After breakfast, meet your guide for a visit to the city of Aix.  Aix-en-Provence is a vibrant, lively town with a university founded during the golden era of 600 years ago, and has all you would expect in a Provencal town – sunny squares filled with cafes, broad avenues lined with plane trees, and a large historical centre lined with boutiques and attractive houses and cafes. Start with a “gourmet walking” in the historical centre of Aix en Provence.  Discover this charming Provencal town and the diversified scents and flavours of our region.  Let your senses be amazed by the colours and the smells of several local products, be tempted by some Calisson, the sweetest candy of all time created in Aix en Provence, appreciate a toast of green or black tapenade, taste a piece of cheese or a glass of wine from one of the local wine appellations.   Overnight in Aix en Provence.Day 7: Departure
After breakfast, independent departure transfer.  ***end of services***
