Day 1: Arrival Podgorica
Arrival to Podgorica Airport. Transfer to your hotel in Budva. Tie to relax. Overnight.Day 2: Old Bar & Skadar Lake
After breakfast, we drive South and visit the fascinating ruins of Stari Bar (Old Bar), situated on a steep cliff in the base of mountain Rumija. See the Palace of King Nikola – the former summer residence of the monarchs. On its vast territory you can see the Summer and Winter palaces, the Cathedral Church of St. Vladimir. The residence of the Archbishop of Catholics is interesting, and especially the monument to the liberators of the city from Ottoman authority. It is created from fragments of the destroyed walls of the buildings of the Old City. Take a stroll to nearby Mirovica, where the famous vine where an over 2.000 years old olive tree is located.
Continue towards the Skadar Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Balkans, shared between Montenegro and Albania. The lake is most famous for its diversity of flora and fauna and home of over 250 different bird species, which makes the lake a paradise for ornithologists. Lake’s immediate vicinity is the habitat of the grapevine used to produce famous Montenegrin wine – Vranac. From the small fishing village of Virpazar take a panoramic boat ride along the lake, which will reveal numerous lake attractions, extraordinary birds, water lilies in bloom, secluded beaches and more. Continue to Budva, accommodation at hotel and overnight.Day 3: Koto Bay
Driving across the Montenegrin coastline we will get familiar with four beautiful bays of Montenegro. After one hour of driving from Budva, we will reach a very miniature baroque town of Perast. Explore the charming baroque church and its unique history, exquisite paintings, and tapestries. Return to Perast and walk among 17th and 18th century buildings and observe their extravagant baroque architecture. See a few of the 14 historic churches built during the Baroque Period and learn about the city’s storied past.
Continue to the pearl of Kotor bay, a UNESCO heritage site – Kotor, famous Montenegrin medieval city, surrounded by impressive city walls. City was ruled by Illyrians, Romans, Byzantines, Austro-Hungarians, and Venetians. These conquerors have left many fortunes behind, such as renaissance palaces, baroque towers, and its most monumental testament, the Cathedral of St. Triphoon, protector of Kotor. Return to Budva and balance of the day at leisure.Day 4: Budva
Enjoy a day off in Budva and explore the city on your own.Day 5: Dubrovnik
After breakfast, transfer to Dubrovnik. Accommodation at selected hotel in Dubrovnik. Balance of the day at leisure.Day 6: Dubrovnik
Enjoy the morning city tour of Dubrovnik, known as The Pearl of Adriatic, an outstanding city. Its historical and architectural significance has earned it a rightful place as a UNESCO World heritage site. Developing its merchant fleet accomplishment across the Mediterranean and farther, Dubrovnik rose to one of the strongest merchant city states during the 16th century. This city of glorious past was the seat of a small, but powerful state called Dubrovnik Republic and maintained its independence for 450 years. Discover the old city, completely surrounded by mighty walls and fortresses, which are in impeccable condition. Our walking tour takes us to Stradun, the elegant main street which reveals Onofrio’s Fountains, Franciscan monastery with the old pharmacy, Orlando`s column, church of St Blaise – the town’s patron saint, main Cathedral and other amazing sights. Overnight at hotel.Day 7: Departure
Breakfast at hotel and check out. Transfer to Dubrovnik Airport. Departure.
