Our guide will uncover for you the secrets of the UNESCO protected Diocletian’s Palace. This Roman emperor spared no expense for the construction of a sumptuous residence, importing best quality marble, sphinx and columns. The original palace was modified by its new inhabitants during the middle Ages, but making it even more beautiful and what it is today: the city’s living heart. Its narrow streets hide passageways and courtyards, some deserted and eerie, others lively and animated by the music from bars and cafes, or by the everyday life of its residents. Day 2   After breakfast, set out to explore the shorelines surrounding Split. The towns you will visit, Split and charming Trogir, have both seen the Greeks, the Romans, Venetians, Napoleon, the Habsburgs, yet have, each in their own way, managed to sustain an easy-going seaside mindset. Still, over time, Split flourished into Croatia’s second largest city, while Trogir retained its small-scale charms. We will start the day by visiting one of the most beautiful spots in Split, Meštrović art gallery, hosting some of the most prominent sculptures of this world famous artist, disciple of Rodin and 20th-century sculptor, Ivan Meštrović.  Afternoon continue to Trogir and discover this small charming town with a guided walking tour Take in it’s stunning heritage and UNESCO-listed historic center and visit its Cathedral st. Lawrence. Round off your day with a rhapsody of the Mediterranean freshness and flavors at one of Split’s favorite fine dining venues (optional). Duration: Up to 5hours. Return to Split. Day 3:  A visit to Split would never be complete without hopping over to one of the islands  seen off in the horizon.   After breakfast at the hotel, depart by  private motorboat for a transfer to the stunning island of Hvar and its glitzy hotspot, the town of Hvar. Frequented by jet-setters, European royalty and international superstars, Hvar is the birthplace of organized tourism in Croatia and also the home of the oldest European public theater, but outside the town premises, the island still upkeeps its traditions, sloping vineyards and endless lavender groves.
