Day 1: Liberia Airport Transfer to Rincón de la Vieja Upon arrival at Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, clear customs and meet your designated driver in the arrival area. Board your comfortable private transfer for the scenic drive northeast into the dry tropical forest surrounding Rincón de la Vieja Volcano. Arrive at Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin, complete check-in, and spend the evening unwinding amidst the sounds of the active volcanic landscape.
Day 2: Full-Day Canyon & River Adventure Pass Gear up for an action-packed day of outdoor thrill activities guided by local safety experts. Fly along canopy ziplines and rappel through the dramatic walls of the Rio Blanco Canyon before mounting a horse to trek scenic forest trails. Navigate Class II rapids in individual river tubes down the churning waters of the Rio Negro. Wrap up the day soaking in natural hot springs, enjoying the outdoor steam rooms, and applying nutrient-rich volcanic mud. Day 3: Río Celeste Rainforest Waterfall Guided Trek Check out and take a scenic 1.5-hour drive past rural farming villages toward Tenorio Volcano National Park. Embark on a guided hike through dense primary rainforest to locate the world-famous Río Celeste Waterfall. Learn about the forest’s biodiversity and witness the supernatural hue of Los Tenideros, where two clear rivers merge and minerals create a brilliant turquoise light-refraction effect. Day 4: Maleku Cultural Immersion & Arenal Hot Springs Travel to Tonjibe Palenque inside the Maleku Indigenous Reserve to meet community members preserving their ancestral heritage. Follow a 600-meter forest path with a village elder to discover native plants and trees used for natural medicines. Day 5: Mistico Canopy Bridges & Arenal Lava Trail Hike Spend the morning navigating the 2-mile circuit at Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park, crossing 15 bridges (including 6 suspended high in the canopy) while spotting monkeys, toucans, and tropical flora with your guide. In the afternoon, head to Arenal Volcano 1968 Park for a leisurely hike across ancient, hardened lava fields.
