  Day 1: Arrival & Into the Cayo Jungle Land at Belize International Airport, meet your private driver, and leave the coast behind for the lush Cayo District of Western Belize. Check into your jungle lodge, settle into the canopy sounds, and spend the late afternoon relaxing by the pool or enjoying a quiet dinner surrounded by nature.

  Day 2: Ancient Ruins & Mountain Pools (Caracol & Mountain Pine Ridge) Head deep into the Chiquibul Forest Reserve for a full-day guided exploration of Caracol, Belize’s largest Maya site. Walk through ancient plazas, cross ceremonial ball courts, and climb to the top of Caana (“Sky Palace”), which remains one of the tallest structures in the country. On the way back, stop in the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve to walk through the massive limestone arch of Rio Frio Cave, followed by a cool afternoon swim in the natural granite pools of Rio On.

  Day 3: Cayo at Your Own Pace Take a slow morning at the lodge. Use this free day to sleep in, indulge in a spa treatment, or set up a light local outing like a visit to a San Ignacio chocolate-making workshop, birdwatching along the Macal River, or zip-lining through the jungle canopy.

  Day 4: Deep Into the Underworld (ATM Cave) Gear up for a full-day journey to Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM), one of Belize’s most significant archaeological sites. Hike through the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve, cross jungle streams, and swim into the cave mouth. Guided by headlamps, you’ll wade through subterranean rivers to reach giant chambers filled with undisturbed Maya ceramics, calcified artifacts, and ancient sacrificial remains. Return to the lodge for a well-earned evening of rest.

  Day 5: Unwind in the Canopy Enjoy a second unstructured day in Western Belize. It’s the perfect buffer to digest the week’s adventures, relax on your private porch with a book, or take a peaceful inner-tube float down a nearby river.

  Day 6: Jungle-to-Coast Drive via the Hummingbird Highway Check out of your lodge and board your private transfer to the southern coast. You’ll travel down the scenic Hummingbird Highway, winding through citrus groves, Maya mountains, and lush rainforest. Stop for photos or fresh tropical fruit along the way before arriving at the Placencia Peninsula. Check into your resort and spend your first evening dining seaside with fresh seafood and Caribbean breezes.

  Day 7: Belize Barrier Reef Snorkeling Board a boat from Placencia for a shared full-day snorkeling excursion out on the Belize Barrier Reef. Explore pristine offshore cays, swim alongside sea turtles, nurse sharks, rays, and tropical fish among bright coral gardens. Enjoy a beachside lunch on an island cay before cruising back to Placencia in the late afternoon.

  Day 8: Peninsula Living Spend the day soaking up Placencia’s laid-back coastal vibe. Walk or bike down the famous Placencia Sidewalk, visit local art galleries, grab a scoop of local gelato, or simply stake out a lounge chair on the beach.

  Day 9: Coastal Views & Sunset Sail Enjoy a relaxed morning on the beach or kayaking through the Placencia Lagoon. In the late afternoon, step aboard a catamaran for a shared sunset cruise along the coast. Sip tropical drinks, sample appetizers, and take in the views as the sun drops behind the Maya Mountains in the distance.

  Day 10: Final Beach Day Your final full day in paradise is completely open. Rent a paddleboard, arrange an optional trip to the nearby Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, or spend the entire day enjoying the beach and a final seaside dinner.

  Day 11: Farewell Belize Take a short shuttle transfer to the Placencia Airstrip for a quick, scenic local flight back to Belize International Airport (BZE) to connect with your international flight home.
