Itinerary

DAY 1 Lima—Arrival in Lima, meet & greet transfer to hotel.

Day 2 Lima/Arequipa—Flight to Arequipa. Arrival, meet & greet transfer to hotel.     Afternoon guided tour of Arequipa: Carmen Alto Lookout, of the Chilina Valley; Yanahuara Lookout, of Arequipa City and Misti volcano; Saint Lazarus; Santa Catalina Convent; Plaza de Armas or “Arequipa’s Main Square”; the Cathedral and the Jesuit Church of La Compañía. Return to hotel.

Day 3 Arequipa/Colca—Excursion through district of Yura; pass by Mount Chachani and the National Reserve of Pampa Cañahuas. Continue through Vizcachani and Pampas of Toccra.   Continue to the Chucura crater, Patapampa Pass and the Andes Lookout.   Lunch at Chivay. Check-in at  hotel and afternoon visit to La Calera Hot Springs. Dinner with a  folkloric show.

Day 4 Colca/Puno—Excursion to Cruz del Cóndor.  Return to Chivay for lunch;  tour  the villages of Pinchillo, Maca, Achoma, Yanque and views of Antahuilque and Choquetico. Continue to Puno, via Patahuasi & small Andean communities,  the villages of Imata, Santa Lucia and Juliaca.  Return to the hotel in Puno.

Day 5 Puno—Tour the National Reserve of Titicaca.  Visit the Uros “floating islands”;  40 islands made of “Totora” reeds.  Return to the hotel.  Afternoon tour of the archaeological site Sillustani, on the shore of Umayo Lagoon.  View the Chullpas; precolumbian funeral towers.  Return to hotel.

Day 6 Puno/Cusco—Trip to Cusco by regular bus. Visit the Andahuaylillas’ Chapel and  archaeological sites, such as: Racchi’s temple, La Raya  and Pukara.  Buffet lunch in Sicuani. Upon arrival, meet & greet transfer to hotel for overnight.

Day 7 Cusco—Free morning. Afternoon guided tour visit to the Cathedral, famous for its architecture and collection of canvases from the

“Escuela Cusqueña” (Academy of Cusco); the Temple of the Sun or “Koricancha”, the foundation of Santo Domingo Monastery, Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay. Return to hotel.

Day 8 Cusco/Sacred Valley/Cusco—Tour  the Sacred Valley.   Tour the Pisaq market, where artisans sell a wide variety of handicrafts.   After lunch (included), tour the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo.   Return to the hotel in  Cusco.

Day 9 Cusco /Machu Pichu/Cusco—Full day excursion to  Machu Pichu.  Morning transfer to  rail station for rail trip to Aguas Caliente. Continue by bus to the archaeological site for a guided tour.  Return to Cusco hotel and lunch.

Day 10 Cusco/Puerto Maldonado—Flight to Puerto Maldonado. Arrival, reception and transfer by motor boat to the Amazonian lodge. Lunch is provided after a  welcome beverage and check into lodge.  Afternoon tour, led by a naturalist guide, visit the “Isla de los Monos” or Monkey Island.   The island is located in the heart of the Madre de Dios River.  The tour ends after a beautiful sunset.  Dinner at the lodge.

Day 11 Puerto Maldonado—Guided walking tour through the rainforest, to the Amazon Watch Tower, built at the top of the Shihuahuaco, an immense tree   Enjoy a  canoe ride around the lake. Return to the lodge and lunch. Afternoon take another canoe trip down the river to visit a local family living in the rainforest.  Return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 12 Puerto Maldonado/Lima—Flight to Lima. Meet & greet transfer to hotel.  Tour Lima:  visit  the Government Palace, the Cathedral, the  Archbishop’s and Municipal Palace, Church of San Francisco and Monastery.  The tour ends with a visit to the modern suburbs of San Isidro, and Miraflores. Return to  hotel.

Day 13 Lima—Departure hotel to airport transfer.
