Itinerary

Day 1 Lima—Arrival in Lima, meet & greet transfer to hotel.

Day 2 Lima/Cusco—Transfer to the airport for flight to Cusco. Arrival in Cusco, meet & greet transfer to hotel.     Guided city tour to visit: the Cathedral, and view collection of canvases from the “Escuela Cusqueña” (Academy of Cusco); the Temple of the Sun or “Koricancha”, and Western cultures and the archaeological sites of Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay.  Return to  hotel.

Day 3 Cusco / Machu Pichu— Full day excursion to visit Machu Pichu.  The citadel is located   113 Km  ( 70 miles) northwest of Cusco. The tour starts with an early transfer to the railway station for the morning 3 1/2 hour train ride to Aguas Calientes.  Continue with bus ride up to the archaeological site for a guided tour.  After the visit, return to the village of Aguas Calientes for lunch. Transfer to hotel. Bring swim suit  to enjoy the hot springs of Aguas Calientes.

Day 4 Machu Pichu/Cusco— Day at leisure.  We recommend a return visit to Machu Pichu or to climb up the Huayna Pichu Mountain.  Return to Cusco and to  hotel.

Day 5 Cusco/Lima—Transfer to the airport for flight to Lima.  Reception and transfer to the selected hotel. Afternoon visit to Lima. It begins with the historic downtown, visit  the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, the  Archbishop’s Palace and the Municipal Palace, the Church of San Francisco and Monastery, the largest monumental complex of Colonial Art in the Americas.  Passing by Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca building, which was most likely used as an important ceremonial and administrative center belonging to the Lima Culture. The tour ends with a visit to the modern suburbs of San Isidro, and Miraflores. San Isidro has modern apartment buildings and beautiful  parks such as “El Olivar”,  Miraflores with its Central Park and Larcomar Shopping Center that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Return to the hotel.
