You will taste world famous wines, and experience a cuisine blending new and ancient tastes. Start your Tuscan adventure in Montepulciano and your journey will take you to other towns such as San Gimignano, San Quirico, Pienza and Cortona, Bagno Vignoni, Siena and Chianti. Your driving adventure ends in cosmopolitan Florence famed for its extensive art collections and Renaissance architecture. Day 1: Arrive in Rome meet your driver and transfer to hotel. Time to relax. Overnight Rome
Day 2: After breakfast, hotel pick-up and join small group tour of Vatican Museum & Sistine chapel. Afternoon at leisure to visit Rome. Overnight Rome
Day 3: Retrieve rental vehicle and start your journey heading towards Tuscany. Arrive Montepulciano, time to visit on your own and enjoy a traditional dinner and some amazing wines that are produced in this area. Overnight Montepulciano
Day 4: Today we suggest visiting more of Montepulciano. A medieval town of rare beauty full of elegant Renaissance palaces, ancient churches, charming squares and hidden corners, and vast panoramas all over the wonderful Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana valleys that surround it. Continue your exploration with a visit to Cortona. Cortona, a lovely city between Arezzo and Lake Trasimeno. Its cyclopean walls reveal its Etruscan origins. It was one of the twelve cities of Etruria and in its vicinity, many Etruscan ruins and tombs may be seen. Cortona today is one of the most enchanting hilltop towns in Tuscany, filled with amazing architecture and surrounded by idyllic landscapes with vineyards. The movie “Under the Tuscan Sun” was filmed in Cortona and still today is the lure to Viist Tuscan. Overnight in Montepulciano
Day 5: Today head to Chianti and on the way we suggest to visit the charming villages of Val d’Orcia. It is a corner of untouched Tuscan countryside dotted with picturesque villages. Pienza, a beautiful town known as the “Ideal City” because it is one of the first examples of humanistic ideal urban planning, and Montalcino, a walled medieval town famous for the production of the renowned Brunello wine. Other iconic sights of Val d’Orcia include the Romanesque Abbey of Sant’ Antimo, and the village of San Quirico d’Orcia, whose surroundings are home to the idyllic Vitaleta chapel and the charming hamlet of Bagno Vignoni, whose main square is entirely occupied by a huge thermal bath from ancient Roman times. Day 6: Today, visit the villages of Chianti. It is a picture-postcard corner of Tuscany covered in rolling hills punctuated by rows of grapes, olive groves and farms where some of Italy’s most renowned wines are produced. You will embark on a scenic road trip through this stunning wine district. Stopping at local wineries for a taste of the best local flavors. Then, when the clock strikes suppertime, your can stop at an historic estate, for a traditional lunch surrounded by beautiful views. Overnight in Chianti
Day 7: Today head towards Volterra and we suggest taking time to visit Siena. It is a town rich in artistic jewels and architectural wonders. In Siena you will admire the unique Piazza del Campo that hosts the famous Palio horse race, and stroll around its atmospheric streets filled with Renaissance palaces, art treasures and decorated with the colorful flags representing the different neighborhoods that participate in the Palio.
Overnight in MontaioneDay 8: Today we suggest to visit the city of Volterra and San Gimignano. Volterra, an ancient town of Etruscan origins famous for its peculiar urban layout and the production of alabaster products. Not to miss is Palazzo dei Priori, Tuscany’s oldest town hall. You may also visit San Gimignano it will charm you with its stunning skyline of medieval towers set against the Tuscan hills (hence the nickname of medieval Manhattan), the highest of which is open to the public and offer exceptional views over the surrounding countryside. Its well-preserved centre features quaint cobbled alleys, beautiful medieval buildings and pretty shops selling local delicacies and Vernaccia wine. Overnight in Montaione
Day 9: Today you will travel to Maremma.. Discover the heart of Maremma. It is a perfect microcosm that stretches between the provinces of Livorno and Grosseto. In the Divine Comedy. Maremma is unique because of the variety of its territory: blue sea, long beaches, black rock, hills covered with woods, marshes and flat lands, green hills and natural thermal baths. You can choose between the villages in the countryside or the coastal towns and harbours such as Porto Ercole, Orbetello and the Argentario. Overnight in Montemerano
Day 10: Today you will travel to Florence and return vehicle. Check into hotel and enjoy rest of day exploring Florence Overnight Florence
Day 11: Morning join a half day small group walking tour of Florence. Visit the Academia (David) headsets provided for the museum visit. Afternoon time for some last minute shopping or just sit at a cafe and enjoy an espresso. Overnight Florence.
Day 12: After breakfast meet your driver and private transfer to Florence Airport and say Arrivederci to Florence as you drive out of the city centre.
