Cooking and Exploring in the Chianti Area

Villa Casagrande, formerly an artistic residence frequented by kings, queens and popes, has been recently restored to its original glamour. The luxurious sixty bedrooms have been furnished with all the modern comforts, taking care not to spoil the charm of this 12th century building.

The restaurant, situated in the old weaponry room in the winter and in the shade of the courtyard in the warm summer months, offers a menu of Tuscan masterpieces, to be complemented by one of the excellent Chianti wines produced by the farm.

An expert chef will teach you how to prepare Tuscan dishes and other Italian specialities, as well as typical cakes and desserts. For those who are interested, a sommelier will be available to help you choose wines to go with each dish.

Day 1
  • Arrival at your three star Relais, Villa Casagrande

Day 2
  • In the morning participate in a private cooking seminar, lunch based on lesson
  • Afternoon tour to Montalcino and wine tasting at wine cellar Fattoria dei Barbi

Day 3
  • In the morning participate in private cooking seminar, lunch based on lesson
  • Afternoon guided visit to Radda in Chianti, wine tasting and snack at wine cellar Fattoria Vignavechia

Day 4
  • Free time in the morning
  • Afternoon excursion to Pieve a Presciano; guided visit to a famous wine farm, olive oil mill, wine cellar; olive oil and wine tasting

Day 5
  • In the morning participate in a private cooking seminar, lunch based on lesson
  • Free time in the afternoon

Day 6
  • Morning departure from Villa Casagrande
