Here is the opportunity of a lifetime, a chance to cook with the nobility of Italy! Your culinary experience will take you to the warm atmosphere of a real Tuscan Kitchen in the home of a Countess in the historical centre of Siena, just a few short steps from the famous square “ Piazza del Campo” where the palio is held twice a year. When you step into her kitchen the Countess will share her culinary secrets and you will learn how to make the fresh pasta and sauces with seasonal products. She will share the history and traditions of the dishes and last, but not least, the history of her family, a long well known established family in the province of Siena. As a matter of fact, she’s the last descendant of Pius the 2nd, the Pope who built Pienza. Your Guide, Federica Olla, was born in Siena, in the thousand year old hospital “ Santa Maria della Scala”, in front of the Cathedral. She belongs to the “ Contrada della Lupa” ( the best in town, she says..). She studied foreign languages and art History at the university of Siena and graduated in 1991.
She has worked in various hotels, schools and wine cellars as guide and she become a tour guide in 1996. She works in English, German, french, Spanish and Italian, in Siena and its province.
